My Globetrail

Legal

Privacy Policy

My Globetrail is a travel-tracking app: you log places you’ve visited, see them on a 3D globe, and optionally let the app detect trips automatically from your photo library. This page explains what data that involves and what we do with it.

Updated 26 Aug 2026

Account

Creating an account requires an email address and password, or signing in with your Apple ID. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email Apple chooses to share — Apple may relay a private address on your behalf instead of your real one.

Trip data

Places you add — name, coordinates, visit date, country, and any note — are stored against your account so they can appear on your globe and sync across your devices. You can delete any place, or your whole account, at any time.

Photos

If you use “Import from Photos,” the app reads the location and date embedded in photos on your device — with your permission, requested by iOS — to detect where and when you’ve traveled. Your photo files themselves are never uploaded or copied anywhere. A thumbnail shown next to an imported place is a reference back to that photo on your own device, not a copy stored by us.

Home location

If you set a home location, its coordinates are stored to power an in-app “distance from home” statistic. It’s treated the same as any other place you add.

Purchases

Subscription and purchase status is handled entirely by Apple and our subscription platform, RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details.

Who else touches your data

We don’t sell your data, to anyone, ever. A few service providers process it on our behalf, strictly to run the app:

SupabaseAccount authentication and trip-data storage
MapboxGlobe rendering and place search
RevenueCatSubscription and purchase status
ApplePayments and Sign in with Apple

Deleting your data

Open the app, go to Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and every place you’ve logged. It can’t be undone, and there’s no waiting period.

Children

My Globetrail isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone in that age group.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
